Soda lovers, unite! We’ve tried dark berry Dr Pepper, and even a cake made with the soda. If you didn’t want to be quite that adventurous, get ready for something a little more classic. This new flavor might even make you reminisce about long-ago afternoons sitting at your favorite soda fountain (even if you’ve never actually done that).
Introducing Dr Pepper Cream Soda, available in classic and diet.
New Soda on the Block
The new drink debuted at the 2019 National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) annual trade show, held in Atlanta in early October, where we also got news of an energy drink from Coca-Cola.
Food Instagrammer @candyhunting was first to share news of the impending release, and gave a first impression on the flavor: “Due to the added vanilla flavor, these aren’t as strong on the classic Dr Pepper taste. Therefore, the flavor here is much less polarizing than original Dr Pepper. I actually like this flavor, unlike the original!”

Clearly, social media users are just as excited about the launch as we are. The post has 450+ comments and counting, and the vast majority can hardly wait for the release.
In the meantime, we’ll be sipping on the brand’s cherry vanilla flavor which we’re guessing has a similar taste. After the release, we just might need to do a blind taste test to decide which is best.
When and Where to Find Dr Pepper Cream Soda
Eager soda lovers have to hold out a bit longer before giving this a try. According to @candyhunting’s post, fans can expect Dr Pepper to roll out its cream soda spin in March 2020. Not surprisingly, it will likely be available in retailers that already carry Dr Pepper products.
