Now, Popeyes is having one of those rare moments, too. The Popeyes Blackened Chicken Sandwich, which debuted in November 2022 as a limited-time item, is back! This time, it’s as a permanent menu item. Here’s how you can get yours.
What Is Popeyes Blackened Chicken Sandwich?
The Popeyes Blackened Chicken Sandwich offers a 12-hour marinated chicken breast seasoned with Cajun spices, a classic or spicy mayo and is served on a toasted “buttery brioche bun” with pickles. OK, we’re seriously excited about this Popeyes comeback.
Additionally, the sandwich is now available with add-on options as well for an extra $1.50 each. This includes adding Havarti cheese, bacon, or both to any Popeyes chicken sandwich.

Fans can already pick up a Blackened Chicken Sandwich for just $4.99! And, for a limited-time, you can do so with an added bonus in the mix. To celebrate the addition of the sandwich to the Popeyes permanent menu, the chain is offering customers the chance to get an extra regular side for free!
Yup, totally free of charge! All customers need to do is order the sandwich—or any of Popeyes’ chicken sandwich combo meals—through the Popeyes website or app to take advantage of the deal. Then, they can enjoy any Popeyes signature side—from coleslaw to spiced Cajun fries, biscuits, mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy, homestyle mac and cheese and red beans and rice.
Fans will need to run to a Popeyes by Sunday, June 25 to take advantage of this deal.
