Slow-Cooker Pea Soup
This slow cooker soup is one of my favorite meals to make during a busy workweek. When I get home I just add the milk, and supper is served! —Deanna Waggy, South Bend, Indiana

Yummy! I added some celery as well, and thyme. I also used chicken broth (half diluted) instead of plain water and added some potato flakes to thicken.. It actually could have used more seasoning (garlic, thyme), but it was sooo good, easy to make and a great recipe to use for leftover ham. I will definitely be making again.
The picky grandchild loved this! Easy to make, I bumped up the garlic a little..
I followed almost exactly (threw in celery, and only had garlic salt, also added a bit of chicken bullion), and it’s SO good! My first time making split pea soup which is my favorite, and super picky about (recently started doing more cooking due to shelter in place!). Thank you for sharing, this will be a regular meal :) also super easy to make.
I followed this recipe exactly and I'm actually throwing it out it tasted so bad. I didn't think there was any flavor. My mom makes a split pea soup that is my favorite thing ever so I decided to try this recipe since the crock pot is an easy way to make a meal. I'm so disappointed.
easy and tasty.
This was the first time I ever made split pea soup and it turned out fantastic. I used two smoked ham hocks instead of the cubed ham and it was absolutely delicious. Our slow cooker cooks at the speed of light and it was done in 4 hours on low. I did add extra milk since it was a little thicker than we like. Will be making this again and again.

Hands down, the best split pea soup I've ever had. It was killer smelling this cooking all afternoon! I used a 16oz package of pre-diced ham for ease and it was perfect. I assumed it was about two cups and didn't measure it, but when I put this recipe into MyFitnessPal with the ingredients I used, the calories went to 406 per serving. Maybe it was the ham and/or the milk; I'm not sure. I used baby carrots and whole milk and beyond that followed the recipe as written. My daughter, who claimed to have never had split pea soup before (she's wrong, just doesn't remember) loved it. I served it with a rosemary artisan bread loaf and it was perfect. This is on my list for "easy", "Yummy" and "will make again". My crockpot runs hot (Rival tells me they don't make them like they used to - no kidding!) and so when set to high cycles faster and tends to cook things about 1-1.5 hours sooner than expected. I got the pot turned on at 2:30 and it was boiling by 6:00; I turned it to low and let it continue while the bread baked. SO GOOD.
Absolutely delicious flavor! I used a meaty ham bone, then cut the meat off when the soup was ready. This recipe is a keeper.
Great soup! Nice texture.
