French-Style Green Beans

These beans are one of my favorite side dishes. I serve them at our church steak dinner. A smattering of onions can be used to pep up the mild flavor of the beans.—Hope Meece, Ambia, Indiana

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package (10 ounces) frozen French-style green beans, thawed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  • In a large skillet, saute almonds in butter for 1-2 minutes or until lightly browned. Add beans and salt; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until heated through.

3/4 cup: 149 calories, 13g fat (6g saturated fat), 23mg cholesterol, 237mg sodium, 7g carbohydrate (3g sugars, 3g fiber), 3g protein.

    Woah these green beans take me back in a really good way. So simple and so quick and so so delicious. I highly recommend them. In one sitting they became a family hit!

    Simple and delish. The onions do add to the flavor and I like a little seasoned salt or lemon pepper.
