Nothing curbs a craving quite like your favorite $5 box from Taco Bell, complete with a hot batch of nacho fries. Devoted fans of the Bell know how often the menu changes, so it’s best not to get too attached to one item. If you’re not the type to branch out during the lunch rush, you may want to consider changing your order. (We’re looking at you, Grilled Cheese Burrito fans.)
The revamped Taco Bell menu is here, but to make room for all the new goods, we’ll have to say goodbye to some of our favorites. Here’s what we’ll miss on the menu this fall.
Say Goodbye to These 14 Items
Last year, Doritos fans weren’t happy to hear that two Doritos Locos Tacos flavors—Cool Ranch and Fiery Doritos Locos Tacos—were getting the boot. This year, Mexican Pizza and Beefy Fritos Burrito fans are on the chopping block, as both items will be (or have already been) discontinued nationwide. Other disappearing menu items include:
- Grilled Steak Soft Taco
- Nachos Supreme
- Spicy Tostada
- Triple Layer Nachos
- Spicy Potato Soft Taco
- Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
- Loaded Grillers
- Chips & Dips
- Mini Skillet Bowl
- Pico de Gallo
- Shredded Chicken
Other items you may notice missing from the menu this fall include the Quesarito and the 7-Layer Burrito, though both menu items will be available to order online through customizations.
Did you know you can get free delivery from Taco Bell? Here’s how.
Time Is Running Out
If you want to give your favorite menu item a proper goodbye, you’ll have to get into Taco Bell ASAP. The new menu debuts on November 5, meaning you’ve only got a little while left to dig into your favorites. Some of these items, like the Beefy Fritos Burrito and Triple Layer Nachos, have already disappeared as of August 13—it’s just a matter of time before the entire list is eliminated.
It’s Not All Bad News
Chin up, because there are some new goodies heading to Taco Bell, too. We’re most looking forward to the $1 Chicken Chipotle Melt, which brings together all-white marinated grilled chicken, chipotle sauce and loads of cheddar cheese. Other all-new menu items include the Dragonfruit Freeze (reminiscent of Starbucks’ Mango Dragonfruit Refresher), Green Sauce (reminiscent of Verde Sauce) and the Quesalupa, which will begin the testing period in Knoxville, Tennessee on September 24 before hopefully rolling out nationwide.
Here’s a tasty sneak peek at the Dragonfruit Freeze, courtesy of @whatwontemilyeat on Instagram. Just look at this gorgeous sipper!
Not only is there a new drink, but there’s a new bundle to go along with it. The Grande Stacker Box—according to @guppymfj on Twitter—is $5 and only available from September 3—December 4, but it’s so worth hitting the drive-thru. Every box includes two crunchy tacos, a Grande Stacker and a Baja Blast, which can easily be substituted with a Dragonfruit Freeze.
These items are (presumably) only around for a limited time, so if you’ve got a craving you just can’t curb, take it up with the ‘Bell. You won’t be missing your go-to after you order a Grande Stacker Box.
