My family thought it needed to be sweeter and colder. I guess they were expecting crushed ice in it. We all missed the ice. We didn’t have mango so we put in frozen grapes which I would think are as sweet as mango. We would add honey or sugar and make sure the coconut milk had been refrigerated and nice and cold before adding.
It was like having a virgin pina colada except for the dates and mangoes. The dates give a healthy, natural sweetness as well as the mangoes although the mangoes can be left out without compromising flavor. So good though!
