Hot Ham Sandwiches

I came up with this crowd-pleasing recipe when trying to re-create a favorite sandwich from a local restaurant. Flavored with sweet relish, these ham sandwiches are oh, so easy. My family likes them with coleslaw and fries. —Susan Rehm, Grahamsville, New York

I have not made theses but looking at the recipe I would add chili sauce e or ketchup. In Pittsburgh these would be called Ham BBQ Sandwiches.

I was really disappointed in this recipe. I had been wanting to make it for quite some time, and finally had the opportunity for a Christmas family gathering. Nobody cared for them :(

I first made this sandwich when it was first published in 2000 did it for a bunch of people at the lake. It was a hit, so good and an easy meal to feed a lot of people. I have done it several times over the years and decided to do it again for the 4th of July this year. The only change I have ever made is to double it or triple it. Thanks for a great recipe!

We did not enjoy these at all. The ham was dry and it just lacked flavor.

I made these sandwiches for a family get-together and everyone loved them! I bought "brown sugar ham-off-the-bone" sliced thin, used 1/2 cup brown sugar instead of 2/3 cup then followed the remaining instructions/ingredients. When serving time arrived, I gave guests the option of adding Swiss cheese to their sandwich (melted on sandwich in the microwave), then topped off with a slice of tomato, arugula and dressed with honey mustard dressing. They were a hit! I plan on making these again, especially for the upcoming summer picnics! 5 stars for sure!

Fantastic. Mid-Dec. 1 day. Dr. visit, vet visit, shopping, cleaning, split shift, pool night. All in slow cooker w/rolls & veggie salad on the side. Dinner when you want it, 4 to 7 -all gone. I will use coleslaw & French fries when we all eat at once. Thank you so much.

This is a wonderful recipe! Be sure to buy good ham off the bone meat. It is so easy and great for a casual dinner party or football game. Most everybody liked mustard with the meat.
