“This must-try casserole tastes so good when it’s hot and bubbly from the oven,” writes Margaret Wilson from Hemet, California. “The cheddar french-fried onions lend a cheesy, crunchy touch.”

We love this recipe and I have made it many times for friends and they love it too! I usually use cream of mushroom soup (though celery soups not bad either) and instead of peas I use corn. Over all though it is just good comfort food!

Made this for a friend and her family going through a rough time. It was total garbage. They couldn't eat but one bite, and had to throw the whole thing away. I tripled it, because the have so many mouths to feed, and what a waste of time and ingredients. I will never make this again, and wanted to warn others about it. This family loves all of the ingredients that are in this, but couldn't stand the casserole.

This was easy to make and my family loved it! I never cooked with cream of celery soup but was surprised at the final flavor of this dish. I'll definitely make it again!

This is recipe is made often at our house. When my husband and all 3 kids like something it is a keeper! I only changed a couple of things. I put more of the onions mixed in instead of on top and of course I add more cheese. I keep the milk at 1 1/2 cups because it keeps the casserole nice and creamy. Great recipe!

I too followed some other reviews and only used 1cup of milk and a lot more cheese. I also added garlic, onion, and mixed veggies. Very good though and easy!

This casserole is so delicious! I only add 1 cup milk, add minced garlic and used sharp cheddar, fontina, and Parmesan instead of the mozzarella. So easy and good, my 7 year old inhaled it!

I had to make some modifications due to what I had on hand. I used rotini in place of the penne, reduced milk to 1 cup, added extra mozzarella cheese, substituted a can of green beans for the peas, used plain french-fried onions instead of cheddar, and at the end of the baking time, I sprinkled on cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella & added extra than what the recipe calls for. Was happy how it turned out. Quick and easy to make.

Wonder if you used a can of cheddar cheese soup instead of the celery soup if that might give the dish more flavor - don't know just asking as I haven't made this yet - but I'm going to......

I also only used 1 cup of milk. This was great. My husband couldn't even come up with a way to improve it (he usually has some idea)
