I grew up in Northern California and I miss the flavors from home. I created this dip that combines some of my favorite ingredients like avocados, artichokes and almonds. Sourdough bread is another California favorite for serving, but it works really well with pita chips or tortilla chips too. —Elisabeth Larsen, Pleasant Grove, Utah

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 ounces) cannellini or great northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 3 medium ripe avocados, peeled
  • 1/2 cup marinated quartered artichoke hearts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup julienned soft sun-dried tomatoes (not packed in oil), chopped
  • 1/4 cup sliced ripe olives
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • Sourdough baguette slices, toasted, or baked pita chips
