7 Retired Ben & Jerry’s Flavors That Deserve a Comeback

Updated: Jul. 13, 2022

These Ben & Jerry's pints may not have lasted long on the shelves, but our tastebuds definitely wouldn't mind if they were brought back.

We’re all about Ben & Jerry’s here! (When they’re scooping up free ice cream, what’s not to love?) Cherry Garcia, Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Half Baked may be some of the most popular and recognizable pints, but other flavors haven’t done as well. There are retired Ben & Jerry’s flavors we’re not missing all that much (like Oh Pear which is pear ice cream with fudge swirls), but there are also a few that we’d love to see back on the market!

Peanut Butter & Jelly

Where exactly do flavors go when it’s time to say goodbye? The Flavor Graveyard, of course. Located at the Ben & Jerry’s HQ in Canterbury, Vermont, you can stop by and pay your respects to flavors of the past, like Peanut Butter & Jelly, which lasted from 1989-1990. It wasn’t as popular as the iconic sandwich–nuts.

Fresh Georgia Peach

While there are many ways to enjoy fresh peaches, this vanilla ice cream with Georgia peaches wasn’t a hit. It only lasted 5 years before Ben & Jerry’s pulled the flavor. If you still find yourself craving a bowl of Fresh Georgia Peach ice cream, you can absolutely make your own!

Crème Brulee

We really can’t see how Crème Brulee ice cream wasn’t beloved enough to stay on the shelves. This sweet custard ice cream was swirled with caramelized sugar, but only lasted from 2007 ’til 2012. The iconic French dessert couldn’t be sweeter, and it’s not too hard to make either!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt

This vanilla fro-yo with gobs of cookie dough didn’t get enough love to stick around, and we really don’t know why. Edible cookie dough has been popping up more and more on the market lately, so maybe this one will stage a comeback.

Fossil Fuel

What wasn’t great about this flavor? It had sweet cream ice cream, with chocolate cookie pieces and fudgy dinosaurs plus a fudge swirl–but only lasted from 2005-2010. It has a strange name, but this ice cream is something we definitely want around again.

Wild Maine Blueberry

While this flavor may have you feeling a bit like Violet from Willy Wonka, with blueberry ice cream, blueberry puree and blueberries, there’s something about berry desserts that are satisfying in the summer time. Got a berry craving? Try our blueberry cheesecake ice cream (it won’t make you turn into a blueberry, we promise).

Hazed & Confused Core

It seems to be a recurring theme that nutty flavors don’t do as well with Ben & Jerry’s fans, but that doesn’t stop us from missing one of the flavors introduced in 2014–Hazed & Confused. It featured a hazelnut fudge core between halves of chocolate and hazelnut ice cream. This is like the ice cream version of our best Nutella treats!

Feeling passionate about buying one of these flavors again? You can vote at the Flavor Graveyard to bring a pint back, and Ben & Jerry’s has promised to “resurrect” the flavor with the most votes. (We’re voting for Crème Brulee!)
