Hurry-Up Ham N Noodles

This basic dish is ready to serve in almost the time it takes to cook the noodles. It's super for a luncheon or anytime I'm in a hurry. —Lucille Howell, Portland, Oregon

We made the recipe per the directions, only doubled it. We had not leftovers. Everyone loved it.

I've been making this recipe since it was first published in TOH in April, 1999. At that time, we had our six children at home

This was just ok. I thought it lacked flavor. I added a chopped clove of garlic and some peas as others suggested, but we didn't care for it. I used while wheat pasta, but don't think regular pasta would have helped this. Plus it made a ton, and we had leftovers several days. My husband added ketchup to his on the leftovers, and said it was "better", but I won't make this again.

I cannot, of course, give review on something I have not made yet, but I really want to try this recipe. However, I have a question for those of you who have made it. Can I substitute half-and-half for heavy cream? I don't usually buy heavy cream, but I always have half

This dish was absolutely creamy and delicious! Very easy, so perfect for a weeknight meal. The only change I made was adding peas. I think I’m going to try with tuna, if I don’t have ham on hand. A definite keeper,
