These pork chops make a quick company dish. Our family enjoys them on the grill, as the summer weather in our part of the country is hot and muggy. In the wintertime, they're wonderful prepared in the broiler. —Blanche Babinski, Minto, North Dakota

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 6 bone-in pork loin or rib chops (about 1-1/2 inches thick)

Directions

  1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the first five ingredients; set aside 1/3 cup for basting. Add pork chops. Seal bag and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Drain and discard marinade. Grill chops, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 12-16 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 160°, turning once. Brush occasionally with reserved marinade. Yield: 6 servings.

"Like others, I have been making this for years. Because I love garlic, I tend to add a bit more. After experimenting with other meats and such, I found that you can make a bit more marinade and separate it and use some as a basting sauce. This is really great on any type ribs, especially country style. Great recipe."

"Have been making these chops since the it was originally posted and just had a request from my son who lives out of state to send it to him. First time I ever made them his comment was this is awesome, what kind of meat is it. We have found that the longer you marinade them the better they are."

"OhBarbi, the marinade was too sweet because you substituted ketchup instead of chili sauce. Ketchup is full of sugar. The chili sauce is used to balance out the brown sugar. You should have fiollowed the recipe. You should have given this marinade a 5 star rating. It was your mistake, not the person who submitted the recipe."

"My husband and I enjoyed these delicious pork chops the other night. They are so easy to prepare and great for warm weather grilling. I only marinated the chops all day instead of overnight and they were delicious. We will have this again."
