Very Vanilla French Toast Recipe
- 1 cup milk
- 1 package (3 ounces) cook-and-serve vanilla pudding mix
- 1 Eggland's Best Egg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 8 slices Texas toast
- 2 teaspoons butter
- In a large bowl, whisk the milk, pudding mix, egg and cinnamon for 2 minutes or until well blended. Dip toast in pudding mixture, coating both sides.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook bread on both sides until golden brown. Yield: 4 servings.

My boys loved this french toast. As several others also mentioned, do not, I repeat, do not, use instant pudding. It does not work, at all!
Pudding gives it a subtle vanilla taste.
Oh and first time I mistakenly used instant pudding so it was really mushy and soft..... So make sure you use cook and serve pudding mix.
Also, I put 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon as the recipe said, even though I love cinnamon I would say it's a bit too much. I would halve the cinnamon next time and also lower the heat but toast it longer to get a more crunchy feeling:D Generally I like my second trial it delicious and a wonderful sensation~~
It's really good with Texas Toast, but if you use bread of thinner slices, it would turn out too soft.~
Wait, I just realized I used instant pudding instead of cook and serve. That probably makes a big difference :) Maybe I'll try it again with the right ingredients.
