- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
- 6 slices day-old bread
- Maple syrup or cinnamon-sugar
- In a shallow bowl, beat eggs; add the milk, sugar, vanilla and salt. Soak bread for 30 seconds on each side. Cook on a greased hot griddle until golden brown on both sides and cooked through. Serve with syrup or cinnamon-sugar. Yield: 2 servings.

"I've been using vanilla extract for years, but try maple along with the vanilla extract. I did this when my daughter was small and we had to leave early, she could have her french toast in the car with no mess. I made bunches and just froze them, worked well just dropping them into the toaster. Also, I've been using Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste recently and it is an improvement over the extract. Enjoy!"
