Vanilla French Toast Recipe

Vanilla French Toast RecipePhoto by: Taste of Home Vanilla French Toast Recipe Rating 5

WE DISCOVERED this recipe in Mexico. We couldn't figure out what made this French toast so delicious until we learned the secret was vanilla - one of Mexico's most popular flavorings. Since then, we've added a touch of vanilla to our waffle and pancake recipes. It makes them all very tasty. -Joe and Bobbi Schott, Castroville, Texas

I never put sugar in my mixture up until now, but I have used vanilla and cinnamon. Wow, this was great! I usually use Schmidts Honey White bread, I highly recommend because it's so soft and tasty!

I also have always added vanilla and cinnamon to my french toast, pancakes and waffles. Substituting vanilla coffee creamer for the milk also makes it SOOO good!!

Can't get enough blueberry syrup in my house but make it withany kind of fruit ! I also make pancakes the same way. Alway's great ! Be prepared to make lot's, everyone loves em !

I use my vanilla coffee cream in place of the milk - now you really have a vanilla flavor! Also add some cinnamon. - Can only get 3-4 slices out of this recipe. Great Sunday morning recipe!

I have been using vanilla in french toast for as long as I can remember. But did you ever make french toast using egg nog instad of milk?

Reviewed on May. 13, 2010 by mrsjns

I found that this would be almost all soaked up by three pieces of bread, so I had to add more egg and milk, etc. I'm going to increase the ingredients by half again to make four to five pieces. My husband loved it, and it was so easy that you could easily make it any morning.
