A yellow cake mix streamlines assembly of this moist golden bread from Marie Davis. "I searched a long while for a banana bread that was easy to make," explains the Pendleton, South Carolina cook. "This one takes no time at all, and makes two loaves, so one can be frozen to enjoy later."

I added a special touch at the end. After removing the loaves from the oven, I drizzled some melted butter with cinnamon/sugar mixed in over the tops while still hot. YUMM!

Marie, I thank you so very much for this recipe! I've put it to use and it has been so helpful to me! I DID make some modifications to the recipe by adding 1 tsp. vanilla extract and 1/2 cup chocolate chips plus I sprinkled cinnamon-sugar over the top of the batter and swirled it through for a marbled pattern. All in all, it came out really nicely! Thank you for sharing your recipe with Taste of Home!delowenstein@verizon.net
