Before I tried this recipe, my family did not like this particular cut of beef because it was chewy. But these cubed steaks, slow-cooked until they're nice and tender, are now one of our favorites.—Judy Long, Limestone, Tennessee

I thought this recipe was great. My husband did not really care for the cube steak being so tender, so next time I will just fully cook his in the frying pan and add his to the crock pot a little later. The gravy was wonderful!! It did not take any where near 8.5 hrs to cook. Mine was cooked on low and was done in about 4 hrs.

Tasty, but too salty for us. If I make it again, I will use one pack of gravy & add some flour or cornstarch. Smells so good when it is cooking.

I have already shared this recipe to my Aunt and she loved it also. I would suggest adding salt and pepper when browning steaks. Will make again.

LOVE this recipe - as cube steaks tend to be a tougher cut of meat (chewy) but when you do it by this method OMG sooooooo tender! LOVE it!! we don't like mushroom anything so i just substituted the mushroom envelope w/either another brown gravy or another onion.
