Farmhouse Apple Coleslaw
A friend from church gave me this apple coleslaw recipe that her grandmother handed down to her. The flavors complement each other well, while the fruit creates a refreshing change of pace from the usual coleslaw. —Jan Myers, Atlantic, Iowa

I did not care for this at all. Way to dry even after in refrig for 24 hrs. It is a preference thing, but I dont care much for all the crunchy. I'll stick with the creamy coleslaw.
I've been making my slaw this way FOR YEARS, it's the only way that feels right. The only addition I make to the above noted recipe is that I include small little squares or chunks of cheddar cheese - so good.

This sounds amazing! I think I will sub apple cider for the lemon juice!
The slaw was very good , the amounts of everything was balanced. We did add a small amount of grated baby carrots and that seemed to finish off the slaw perfectly. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
How long does this keep for?
This was the Christmas Salad (Ensalada Navidena) my Mom used to make. She added walnuts and pineapples to it also. Wow! Thank you for sharing the recipe. It brought back tons of memories.
