Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup Italian-style panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped seeded jalapeno pepper or green pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
  • 1/2 pound spicy bulk pork sausage
  • GLAZE:
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Add beef and sausage; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into two a 6x4-in. loaves.
  2. Prepare grill for indirect heat. Grill loaves, covered, over indirect medium heat for 20 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine glaze ingredients. Brush top and sides of loaves with glaze. Grill until a thermometer reads 160°, another 10-15 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
