"I normally don't care for wings, but after I tried this recipe that was shared by a coworker, it changed my mind," says Holly Mann of Temple, New Hampshire. A simple overnight marinade coats the wings to create a lovely glaze when baked.

MAKES: 6-9 servings

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken wings
  • 1-1/2 cups soy sauce
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  1. Cut chicken wings into three sections; discard wing tips. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the soy sauce, orange juice and garlic powder; add wings. Seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate overnight.
  2. Drain and discard marinade. Place chicken wings in a greased foil-lined 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until juices run clear and glaze is set, turning twice. Yield: 2-1/2 dozen.
Editor's Note: Uncooked chicken wing sections (wingettes) may be substituted for whole chicken wings.

These are good and easy to make. Sometimes I add extra seasoning like ginger powder and sliced green onion. I used this marinade on chicken thighs and served it with fresh pineapple, and a rotini noodle pasta salad with feta, fresh basil, olives, grape tomatoes, green onion and a dressing made of lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil.

I stumbled across this recipe one summer and grilled the wings instead of baking them. My family and friends loved them!! They have been a staple to our Jimmy Buffett tailgating ever since!

I made these for Super Bowl...they were not a big hit. No one wanted the left overs and I followed the recipe exactly. Don't think my husband is going to ask for wings for a while!
