“Here’s a family favorite that’s requested monthly in our house," writes Janelle Moore from Federal Way, Washington. "The Italian sausage paired with creamy tomato sauce tastes out of this world. Not only is this dish simple to make, it tastes like you slaved over a hot stove for hours!”

This recipe is absolutely AMAZING and so easy to make! It's definantly a household favorite. I wouldn't suggest mixing all of the noodles in at once though. I usually only use about half of a package when I make it, the flavor of the meat mixture is just too good to outweigh by the noodles, and I substitute pesto for the basil since I've always got some around. Also, since I have a hard time finding Italian sausage, I just buy a pound of regular pork sausage and add italian seasoning while browning. The flavor is miraculous.

This was excellent, but, I did make a couple of changes to make it a little healthier. Instead of 1-1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream, I only used 1/2 a cup of heavy whipping cream, then added in 1 cup of half and half. I also added in fresh cooked asparagus - it was sooo yummy. thinking of trying it with broccoli as well.

My family loved this, including my son who "hates everything" except pizza!

This was so good! It has a little kick to it so I'm glad I didn't buy the hot sausage. A little messy to make but well worth it!

When I started this recipe, I thought I had all the ingredients, as usually happens, I didn't. I only had one can of plain stewed tomatoes, so I added some chopped red and green pepper and tomato sauce and little Italian seasoning. It was still delicious even with the substitutions - my family loved it. I look forward to making it again, with the correct ingredients next time!

I made this recipe with tortellini instead of bow ties. It was good but needed more flavor, perhaps spicy Italian sausage, more garlic and more herbs.

This has become a family favorite. A friend commented that it was just like eating at her favorite Italian restaurant.
