"I was surprised to see how quickly my friends gobbled this dish up," chuckles Sue Davis, Wausau, Wisconsin. "Excusing myself, I flew into the kitchen, chopped up more onions and apples, quickly fried them and brought out another steaming dish. That one disappeared, too!"

I have made this several times & it always gets eaten up. I always melt the butter with the brown sugar then add the onions, cook them a few minutes then add the apples.

First-medium heat is too hot for onions unless they are supposed to be burned! When the apples were added, they were turned to mush in 5 minutes, the recipe says 15-20 minutes, not anything like the photo! The taste was "BLAH" to say the least! I cannot fathom "anyone" asking for "seconds"! This obviously "slipped past the tasters" at taste of home!!
