Talk about an easy marinara mozzarella dip! With just three ingredients and two loaves of baguette-style French bread, you'll have an easy appetizer that will please your family and guests. For a tasty variation, try using goat cheese instead of mozzarella cheese. —Janie Colle, Hutchinson, Kansas

Ingredients

  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 carton (8 ounces) fresh mozzarella cheese pearls, drained
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
  • French bread baguette, thinly sliced and toasted
  • Optional: Crushed red pepper flakes and additional minced fresh basil

Directions

  1. Pour marinara into a 1-1/2-qt. slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low about 2 hours, until hot. Stir in mozzarella and basil. Cook until cheese is melted, about 30 minutes longer. Serve with toasted baguette slices and, if desired, top with crushed red pepper flakes and additional basil.

Test Kitchen tips
  • This recipe works well with jarred pasta sauce, so use your favorite brand and flavor.
  • The easiest way to serve this is to spoon the cheesy sauce onto the baguette slices (instead of dipping into the sauce with the toast).
