Cinnamon Pecan Bars

- 1 package butter pecan cake mix (regular size)
- 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 2 large Nellie’s Free Range Eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup cinnamon baking chips
- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine cake mix and brown sugar. Add eggs and melted butter; mix well. Stir in pecans and baking chips. Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan.
- Bake until golden brown, 25-30 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

When I got my Oct.-Nov. 2017 Simple and Delicious magazine I couldn't wait to try these bars. My husband and I think they are wonderful! Made them as written, except because I have a dark non-stick pan baked them at 325. Thank you so much Jennifer for sharing your recipe. I can see why your class enjoys making them too.

This is one of the easiest recipe I've ever made. My boys really over enjoyed. Like others mentioned, it cooks faster than listed.

I used a butter cake mix & put ground pecans & cinnamon chips sprinkled on top before baking. Family tested, family approved.

Oh my gosh!!! This recipe is so easy, and tastes great. I agree with other reviews, a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle would make a decadent dessert for sure. My husband loved them, and he doesn't like sweets, so you know they were a hit. I have since shared this recipe with several friends and made a batch for the guys at work, and took some to a school honors banquet. A must try, and I am guessing that once you try them, the combinations are endless with swapouts on the flavor of the cake mix and chips.

Made these for a recent potluck and they were very tasty. One friend who tried them said all they could use to improve them was a big scoop of ice cream on top and a drizzle of warm caramel syrup!

These were super simple to make and very good. As others mentioned they were done a little sooner than the recommended time. I had some leftover cream cheese frosting from a carrot cake I had made, so we tried the bars with the frosting, with powdered sugar and plain and they were simply delicious every way.

I made the Cinnamon Pecan Bars earlier today. I could not find the Butter Pecan cake mix so I used a butter cake and added pecans. I also cut the brown sugar in half; just don't enjoy overly sweet things. Yum! For a "not so frequent baker", this recipe was easy to follow and make!

Thank you fellow reviewers for sharing what you'd done with this recipe! I did not have cinnamon chips or butter pecan cake mix! I used peanut butter chips and a butter cake mix. The brown sugar I had on hand was light brown. I baked just 20 minutes! delowenstein, Taste of Home Volunteer Field Editor.

Very easy and a nice slightly sweet bar. I baked mine for the recommended time, and the edges were a little dry, otherwise very good

These bars are beyond awesome. They are so easy to prepare, it takes longer to get the ingredients out than to make them. I did use Splenda brown sugar blend but made no other changes to the recipe. I am already planing on taking them for refreshments. Be careful, you won't be able to stop eating them. I highly recommend this recipe.Volunteer Field Editor
