I loved the end result, but like others,I changed a few things. EX: I substituted ground oatmeal for the wheat flour and honey for the sugar, but it think the most important ingredient in this recipe is the buttermilk hands down!! The bread was soooo moist and the texture was wonderful!! Thanks so much for this recipe!! Next time I plan to use half wheat flour for half the mixture. Thanks again!! Loved it !!!

I used 1.3 cups of wheat flour with 2 cups of bread flour. We liked this loaf pretty well. It came out small and more dense than most of the bread machine loaves we have made, which meant that while it wasn't light and fluffy, it was very filling and held up well during slicing. I'm continuing my search for the perfect weekly bread recipe, but I will be filing this one away.

I make this bread once a week. It's simple and delicious. We use it for sandwiches, toast, french toast and just to nosh on with jam or peanut butter. Excellent must have recipe!

This was excellent. I think the buttermilk gave it a bit of a sourdough flavor. The crust stayed nice and soft even the next day. UPDATE: I too am playing with the wheat to white flour ratio. It's so nice to have an easy way to replace store-bought bread. So yummy.

I use this recipe all the time and love it. The only change I make is that I use half wheat flour and half white flour to make it more healthy. I also use sunflower oil instead of butter and honey rather than sugar. Delicious!

Excellent flavor. I will add more whole wheat and less white flour next time.
