Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

I added all of the components of a loaded baked potato—cheddar, potato, bacon, sour cream and chives—to my latest quick and easy dish. Every kid will love these chicken tenders! —Cyndy Gerken, Naples, Florida

  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup potato sticks, crushed
  • 1/2 cup crushed cheese crackers
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh chives
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • 1 pound chicken tenderloins
  • Additional sour cream and chives


  • Preheat air fryer to 400°. In a shallow bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. In another shallow bowl, whisk butter and sour cream. Dip chicken in butter mixture, then in crumb mixture, patting to help coating adhere.
  • In batches, arrange chicken in a single layer on greased tray in air-fryer basket; spritz with cooking spray. Cook until coating is golden brown and chicken is no longer pink, 7-8 minutes on each side. Serve with additional sour cream and chives.

    I used this coating for chicken breast instead of chicken tenders. Quick and easy to make and very tasty.

    Bonnie, you can also bake these in the oven at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes. Pippercat, I have found for all my Chicken Sticks recipes, that you really want to press and ‘smoosh’ them into the mixture. I also turn and coat them a couple of times. This helps the crumbs stay on. Cyndy Gerken

    My husband and I really enjoyed these. They were quick and easy to make. And, they actually had a bit of a loaded baked potato flavor. I had quite a bit of coating leftover, though, so I just cut up another chicken breast, melted a little more butter, and made more. We will definitely ma them again. I just wish the coating would stick a little better (that's why I had so much coating left over to begin with).

    Potato sticks are found in the potato chip/snack aisle at your grocery store..... They look like very skinny, dried French fried potatoes..... They’re in tins, kind of like Pringles stackable potato chips .....
