When our children were small and I was busy trying to get all those extra things done that are part of a mom's normal schedule, I would make this quick hot dish. Kids love it.JoAnn Gunio, Franklin, North Carolina

This recipe was delicious and everyone who tried it liked it a lot! I tried skimming down on some of the fat and calories by using skim milk, reduced fat cheese, and 97% fat free beef hot dogs. The result was creamy, delicious, full of flavor, and everyone had second helpings.

Very good! I sauted the onions in the butter sauce and added the cheese as well. At the end I still put a little cheese on top. So so good!!! We also added bacon. Cant wait to make this again

This was a great recipe. I halved it and baked it in an 8x8 casserole dish and it was more than enough for my husband and me. It's economical, good and not too difficult to make. I'll be making this regularly.

A kid-friendly version of sausage and potatoes! This is true comfort food. My tweaks included sauteing the onions in the butter before adding the flour for the white sauce, and adding cheddar to the white sauce in addition to the cheddar on top. The cook time listed does not appear to be accurate; I cooked mine for an hour and a half (instead of 1 hour as listed), and the potatoes in the center of the dish could still have used more time. Next time I'll plan to add more time, but this definitely goes in the "keep" file.

My Grandma taught my mom to make this when she married my dad. My mom never did learn to cook too many things well, but this is delicious and one of my favorite meals growing up...

So inexpensive to make and really easy too!! Kids loved it!! I put in a little less onion, and a little extra cheese and potato, and it was delicious!!

Anyone I've ever made this more loves this. But my kids are the biggest fans. I've made it many times and they only change I've made is I add cheese to the white sauce as well. Gives it a little more taste.
