Parmesan-Ranch Snack Mix

Every party needs a big bowl of snack mix! No one that I’ve made this for can have just one handful—they always come back again and again! —Tammy Landry, Saucier, MS

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Corn, Rice or Wheat Chex
  • 2 cups miniature pretzels
  • 2 cups Goldfish cheddar crackers
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine cereal, pretzels and crackers. Drizzle with butter. Sprinkle with cheese and salad dressing mix; toss to coat.
  • Microwave in batches on high 3 minutes, stirring every minute. Spread onto a baking sheet to cool. Store in an airtight container.

    It's easy and tastes OK...I know we are very sensitive to salt so to others it may be just right. Just too salty for us. The Parm and the Ranch mix have a lot of salt in them.

    SO GOOD! and SO much better than the store bought stuff. Love that is uses the microwave and not the oven so its a cinch in the summer time as a pool snack when the last thing you want to do is bake.

    My kids helped make this. It's a fast and easy recipe that is really good too. It didn't last very long at our house.

    This was really easy to make, and quite good! I added bugles and some nuts, and baked it in the oven, since I was already baking something else. I am giving it 4 stars because I thought it needed more salt, and a little heat. I will make it again using a little seasoning salt and some cayenne pepper

    Super simple to make and it is addicting. I also used the oven method as others did (I generally do not do well with the microwave.) This lends itself to adding other types of crackers or nuts - your imagination is the limit. Making again now to give to some friends and family. Have to give some away or we'd eat it all.

    I made this mix today! I DID use my microwave and cooked 3 minutes, stirring EACH minute and in batches, using a 5-qt. glass bowl for each batch! Some of the pieces WERE more browned. but luckily NOT BURNT! This snack mix is irresistible!

    This snack mix is a 5-star winner. I followed the recipe but put it in a 250º oven for 30 minutes, stirring half way through. Perfect for serving family or guests and can be prepared in a jiffy. Volunteer Field Editor

    I made a double batch of this using Aldi's rice and corn “chex”, square cheese crackers, and mini-pretzels. Instead of microwaving, I placed the mix in two large aluminum pans and baked it at 250 ° for and hour, stirring and rotating the pans after 30 minutes. It's not even cool enough to put in airtight container, and we've been enjoyably snacking!!! Will make this again.
