It's almost impossible to improve crispy fried chicken. A sprinkling of ranch dressing mix in the coating makes it happen, though. The empty-in-seconds serving platter is proof. —Taste of Home Test Kitchen
Crispy Ranch Fried Chicken Recipe photo by Taste of Home
2 broiler/fryer chickens (3-1/2 to 4 pounds each), cut up
Oil for deep-fat frying
Directions
In a large shallow dish, combine 2-2/3 cups flour and Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Seasoning & Salad Dressing Mix Shaker. In another shallow dish, beat eggs and 1-1/2 cups water; add 1 teaspoon salt and the remaining 1-1/3 cup flour and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Dip chicken in egg mixture, then place in the flour mixture, a few pieces at a time. Turn to coat.
In a deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375°. Working in batches, fry chicken, several pieces at a time, until golden brown and a thermometer inserted into chicken reads 165°, 7-8 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.

Wow, rudeness abounds. Dude, I got it. Everybody got it. It's not like you forgot to mention using both bowls and people said, 'Oh my God! I didn't know to use both bowls, so after I used the first flour bowl, I accidentally sowed my chicken to the ceiling!!!' And one of the reviewers misspelled 'Flour' as 'Flower', so really? I'm making this chicken tonight, but I'm sure it'll be phenomenal, be
cause I've made something similar before. Now, if only I can remember to use both bowls...

Michael, I am so disappointed in you. What food travesty have you committed. You obviously use both bowls, which contain all the flour. The first bowl, with flour as the first listed ingredient, is referred to as the flour mixture. The second bowl, while it does include the remainder of the flour, lists eggs as the first ingredient, so it follows that the mixture with eggs would be the one referred to as the egg mixture. All the flour is used. Both bowls are used. Common sense is used. A delightful recipe, unlike whatever you seem to have cooked for your family. Please heed my advice, Michael, because I believe you have the power to grow and improve within you. Don't be afraid. Try the chicken again. I am sending beautiful energies your way, Michael.

you skipped a step, you have 2 bowls of flower but you only use one in the directions. i assume you dip the chicken in to one flower bowl then the egg then in to the 2nd flower bowl but right now you have us making a 2nd bowl with flower then never using it. you also dont say which flower bowl to use first.
