Basic Buttermilk Salad Dressing

- 2 cups mayonnaise
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
- 1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Whisk together all ingredients. Refrigerate, covered, until serving.

I'd never made ranch dressing before, but I had some buttermilk for a different recipe. This is a really tasty dressing! I quartered the recipe, using 1/2 cup each of buttermilk and mayonnaise, and 3/4 teaspoon where the recipe called for a tablespoon of an herb or seasoning. -- And I confess, I used dried dill instead of parsley.

A very tasty buttermilk dressing. The recipe makes quite a bit. So I divided it into two containers and added fresh blue cheese to one.

Delicious! I used a little less buttermilk to make it a tad bit thicker. Everyone loved it!

I made this and it was super easy and very delicious. We use a lot of ranch at our house and this is by far the best one I have tasted!
