In honor of National Hamburger Day on May 28, Burger King has announced that they will be giving away free burgers all weekend long. Before running to the nearest Burger King, here’s everything you need to know about this tasty deal.
How Can I Get a Free Burger King Hamburger?
This deal is exclusive to Burger King’s Royal Perks members. Members can pick up a free hamburger with any $1 purchase.
The deal begins Friday, May 26, and lasts through Sunday, May 28 meaning, luckily, you’ll have all weekend to redeem this offer. Just make sure to place your order through the Burger King app or Burger King’s website ahead of time.
How Can I Become a Rewards Member?
If you’re not a BK Royal Perks member, don’t sweat it! Signing up to be a Royal Perks member is completely free and easy. Customers simply need to visit Burger King’s website and provide their name and email address to create an account. Then, customers are all set to pick up their free burger with a qualifying purchase!
Not only can consumers access this weekend’s hamburger deal, but with a rewards membership they’ll be able to access tons of other offers. Get ready for plenty of free fries, drinks, hash browns, coffee and more.
Here’s How Americans Love Their Whoppers

Burger King also released a map of all of its Whopper findings throughout the United States based on 2022 sales data. According to the chain, there are more than 200,000 possible Whopper combinations. Read on for some of the most fascinating American whopper preferences throughout the nation.
New Mexico is the state that ordered the most Whopper sandwiches in 2022.
But, North Carolina ordered the most Double Whoppers, Montana ordered the most Triple Whoppers and Hawaii ordered the most Impossible Whoppers.
Rhode Island and Florida sure love their bacon. Rhode Island was found to add the most bacon to its Impossible Whopper sandwiches over all the other states. Florida added the most bacon to its Whopper sandwiches. Plus, West Virginia certainly loves its cheese—the state ordered close to 75% of its Whoppers with it!
New Jersey, on the other hand, are loyal fans of the BK app. The state ordered the most Whoppers ahead through the app!
We’ve heard of some pretty big fast-food orders, but even we were shocked to learn that someone in Ohio ordered over 700 BK Whoppers in one order. However, that didn’t stop Maryland from being the state who sold the most Whoppers in a day.
Which state would you guess are night owls and early birds? Well, based on BK’s findings, Arizona is certainly home to lots of morning risers while Kansas is full of night owls. Arizona ordered the most Whoppers before 10:30 in the morning. Kansas citizens, on the other hand, were most likely to order Whoppers after 8 p.m.
Lots of states enjoyed some Whopper additions. Texas added the most BBQ sauce and jalapeños to its Whoppers. Meanwhile, Mississippi ordered lots of extras with everything from condiments to onions and cheese. And Alaska loves its BK Chicken Fries, ordering this side more than any other state.
In terms of customizations, certain states, like Louisiana ordered 50% of its Whoppers curated to the customer’s liking.
Some states don’t enjoy toppings or sides, though—like Tennessee. The state loves its Whoppers without toppings.
It’s pretty clear that Americans can’t get enough of their beloved BK—Whoppers and regular hamburgers alike. So, there’s no better time than National Burger Day to indulge in a free burger treat than this weekend!
