This was wonderful!! I would leave out the sugar next time. I also left out the cinnamon and ginger. I added a Hershey's Candy Cane Kiss and it was better than a Starbuck's Peppermint Mocha. My husband agreed it was "too good"!!

Can you make this without the coffee granules

Sure you can, it just won't be "mocha" it'll be fancy cocoa.Big Smile

I will cut the cinnamon next time in half, and increase the cocoa and sugar a little bit, but this is a great base recipe! Can't wait to perfect so I can give as a gift to friends!

I have made this mix for a couple of winters now. It's great. I use granular splenda in place of the sugar, and omit the nutmeg, a personal preference.

I used a gromet choc with carmel flavor and a tad more cinnamon, grated nutmeg, and a tiny bit more sugar and it is so yummy I decided to put it in pint mason jars with a ribbon and directions and give it a gifts to my coffee drinking friends and family!!
