A rich chocolate frosting is the flavorful finishing touch to this moist from-scratch cake that's mixed in one bowl. It always turns out and is quickly gobbled up by friends and family. I'm asked to fix this favorite so often that the recipe card is an absolute mess! -Cindy Miller, Riverside, Iowa

Wow is all I have to say about this amazing, moist, easy to make cake! Reading previous reviews, I too, was skeptical about not using eggs. This cake is so moist! Truly one of the best cakes I have ever made or eaten! The only change I made to the original recipe was instead of 2 cups water, I used 1 cup water and 1 cup milk. Also, the icing recipe was delicious as well...I did have to use a bit more milk for the icing than stated. Will definitely make this cake again!

I just made this recipe and added some chocolate morsels to it, it tasted fantastic and it was super easy to make! Im just starting to get into baking because I got a new kitchen aid stand mixer and I will definitely be making this recipe again.

Yes! It was easy to make and absolutely delicious. I'm kind of a slow cook, but the cake and icing together only took about an hour, which for me is pretty quick for a cake from scratch.

I followed the directions exactly and the cake came out horrible. It was mushy even though it seemed done after cooking it a little extra. It tasted like cardboard. I will never trust another cake recipe without any eggs.

This was not only the best cake I have ever made, but it was the best cake I have ever tasted! I did add a box of chocolate pudding and it was and still is super moist. Thank you so much for posting this recipe, it really is AMAZING!!!
