Golden Potato Soup

“Pure comfort food,” is how Sheila Harms of Battle Lake, Minnesota refers to her warmer-upper soup filled with flavor, herbs and potatoes. “It’s one of my husband’s very favorite cold-weather meals,” says Sheila. “I serve it with warm biscuits or garlic toast.”

This is everyone's favorite potato soup. I have used shredded potatoes & evaporated milk with great results. Flavor is excellent!

This is delicious. I double it, and use extra garlic plus regular salt, in place of the garlic salt. It's very easy, and even better the second day!

This is SOOO good! I usually do not like herbs, so I was hesitant adding them to the soup. Boy am I glad I did! They lend a subtle flavor that takes potato soup up a notch. I used real bacon pieces from a bag and you couldn't tell the difference. I can't wait to try this with fat-free evaporated milk instead of heavy cream.
