Oh my gosh, these are the best. I am a cookie-holic and these went to the top of my list. I doubled the amount of pecans (only had those on hand.) My family loves them in cookies. Did not change another thing and they were awesome. Hubbly loved them as well. Yes, will be making again often.
I forgot to rate these the first time.
I made these cookies today. Easy and tasty. I can't wait for the kids and grandkids to try them when they come over for Sunday dinner!! I think the girls will enjoy the red chips. They look so pretty and different. I will be making these again.
Have not ired these but you can find flavored baking chips at http://www.preparedpantry.com/baking-chips.aspx
These are so good but I made them before reading the reviews and used dried cherry infused cranberries thinking that is what they meant by cherry chips.. but no matter, they came out great.. next time I'll try to find the cherry chips.. very moist cookies
have not made these cookies yet but certainly will also will substitute dried cranberries
WALMART & SAFEWAY CARRY CINNAMON CHIPS ALL YEAR. I PICK UP CHERRY CHIPS WHENEVER I FIND THEM - WALMART I THINK. I USE TO ORDER CINNAMON CHIP FROM AMAZON, UNTIL LAST YEAR WHEN I COULD GET LOCALLY.
You can make almost any flavored chip by just adding flavoring to chips in a sealed baggie, shake a few times each day so the flavor is evenly distributed throughout the chips and you have flavored chips. This is especially great with a drop of two of mint flavoring when mint chocolate chips are needed and not available in the stores.
I finally found cherry chips by going online at Amazon.com but at $11.00+ for 11 ounces, I found it impractical so used dried cherries instead and worked just fine.
I haven't made these yet, but I've been able to find the cherry chips at my local grocery store here in Kansas at any time, but they're especially prevalent during the Christmas season.
