I’ve noticed minced garlic in jars in the produce department of my grocery store. How much should I use for one garlic clove, and does the flavor taste the same as fresh garlic? —N.G., Des Plaines, IllinoisTypically, 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic from a jar equals one fresh garlic clove, minced. Our Test Kitchen staff finds the jarred garlic to be slightly milder than fresh…and prefers to use fresh. However, you may find that the convenience of using jarred minced garlic is well worth it. Try it and see!
