Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1-3/4 cups mincemeat
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Beat in mincemeat. Stir in chocolate chips.
  2. Spread into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes or until dark golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Dust with confectioners' sugar.

Can you freeze Chocolate Mincemeat Bars?

Freeze cooled bars in freezer containers, separating layers with waxed paper. To use, thaw before serving.
