  • 6 cups Special K
  • 1-1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Nutritional Facts

1 each: 377 calories, 18g fat (7g saturated fat), 1mg cholesterol, 208mg sodium, 51g carbohydrate (37g sugars, 2g fiber), 9g protein.


  1. Place cereal in a large heat-proof bowl; set aside. In a small saucepan, combine the peanut butter, corn syrup and sugar. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally. Pour over cereal; toss to coat.
  2. Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. pan. In a microwave, melt chocolate and butterscotch chips; stir until smooth. Spread over bars. Yield: 1-1/2 dozen.

"The ratio of sweetness to the peanut butter and chocolate combination made even stale Cheerios great! Although best when used with a flake cereal, these will be very good with any cereal you have on hand. Easy to make and turned out great. Tip: Don't forget to spray your measuring cup with cooking spray-- the syrup and peanut butter will easy come out of the cup."

"I have made these yummies for years and called them "Rice Krispie Goodies" (or kipsie boodies as my little ones and now big ones call them!) and they are terrific. These days I would use the most grainy cereal and sneak in some nutrition into these bad boys."

"I substituted corn flakes for the Special K since that is what I had on hand. I used 8 cups of crushed corn flakes instead of 6 cups. I would do this again and try different cereals."
