I have to be super careful when cooking for my daughter because of food sensitivities, so I make these no-bake peanut butter oatmeal bars with certified gluten-free oats. Everyone loves these bars when we go to picnics or potlucks, and I know there will be a dessert for my daughter! —Angela Lively, Conroe, Texas

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars Tips

Can you use other kinds of oats to make no-bake peanut butter oatmeal bars?

You can use quick-cooking oats in place of old-fashioned oats if that's all you have on hand. Keep in mind that quick-cooking oats have a milder flavor and softer texture. We like old-fashioned oats because they tend to hold up better and provide more texture, but quick-cooking oats are perfect in a pinch! If you’ve got some extra oats lying around, try some of these fun oatmeal recipes.

How can you make peanut butter oatmeal bars your own?

One of our favorite ways to put a spin on these classic peanut butter oatmeal bars is by adding chocolate! We all love a good peanut butter and chocolate treat. You can simply fold in some chocolate chips directly with your oats before pressing into the pan, or melt the chips and drizzle over the top for a fun garnish.

How should you store no-bake peanut butter oatmeal bars?

These no-bake bars can be stored in an airtight container on the counter for up to 1 week. You can also store these in the freezer for up to 2 months and simply remove them a few hours before eating.
