This recipe is not only easy to make, it's delicious and beats buying chocolate syrup. We farm in partnership with my husband's parents—this recipe is my mother-in-law's.

- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup baking cocoa
- 1-1/2 cups hot water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- In a large saucepan, stir together sugar and cocoa. Add water; bring to a boil. Add vanilla. Chill. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 2-1/2 cups.
