This decadent dessert is a twist on traditional Italian tiramisu. My family loves the unusual addition of white chocolate and fresh strawberries.—Anna Ginsberg, Austin, Texas

I love this recipe but I am having trouble getting it to firm up. I have made it twice and whipped my cream longer and added more of the mascapone cream but it doesn't get firm. its great as a trifle cake and the taste is great. Any suggestions?

Gotcha!  I wished it would have explained that a little better!  I'm not a daily baker!!  :)  The way I made it came out great though!  Yummy!

2 cups heavy cream, whipped to soft peaks should give you about 4 cups whipped cream.

The first bullets says to Fold in 2 cups whipped cream. - that should leave with about 2 more cups of whipped cream to fold into the final step.

In response to sstetzel's reply...there is no "remaining" whipped cream.  In the 1st bullet section of directions it says to fold in the 2 cups whipped cream and that's all the recipe calls for.  Here's what I did...  I did what it says in 1st bullet of directions, using the 1/2 cup conf. sugar plus a bit more (maybe tablespoon).  I deleted 1st sentence in 3rd bullet of directions and spread the remaining cream/cream cheese mixture on top of lady fingers and finished off with reminaining strawberries, added chocolate syrup drizzle...  Yum!

You're also adding the remaining unsweetened whipped cream to the mixture, that would tone the sweetness down.

There is a problem with this recipe. Had to read it several times. It shows using the whipping cream in the very beginning of the recipe and then in the 3 bullet of directions shows using "remaining" whipping cream. It also says to mix the remaining cream cheese mixture with confectioner's sugar when you have already put confectioner's sugar in it. Some of the cream mixture was already used so you would have less of the mixture and be adding more sugar to it???? Wouldn't that make it extra sweet?? I'm trying it with just the mixing entire ingredient list with instructions in 1st bullet and using that as my "cream" filling. Will respond as to what happens...
