Double-Duty Heavenly Applesauce

Every year my husband and I take our two daughters to an orchard to pick apples so we can make this luscious applesauce for family and neighbors. —Jennifer Purcell, Vermilion, Ohio

This applesauce is awesome! It would be perfect for fall, but it's pretty great already in the summer. I used Gala apples. Got comments that it could be really good heated up and spooned over ice cream, but I haven't tried that yet. I'll definitely be making this again and freezing it.

Very good!! Mine turned out more like apple butter, but whatever you call it, it's good!
