Harvesttime means big bunches of kale from local farmers. These crunchy air-fryer kale chips are delicious, super healthy and easy to make. I make them with seasoning to take the flavor up a notch. For extra zip, add a dash of cayenne pepper. —Luanne Asta, Hampton Bays, New York

Air-Fryer Kale Chips

How should you grease the air fryer to make kale chips?

Depending on the type of air fryer you're using, you may only need a light spritz of cooking spray on the bottom grate to help the food brown. However, if you find your kale chips sticking, reapply the cooking spray in between batches. Here are more air-fryer cooking tips you should keep in mind as you go.

How else can you season air-fryer kale chips?

These air-fryer kale chips use Old Bay for a slightly spicy taste, but kale is versatile and will hold a variety of spices and flavors very well. Try tossing the kale in lemon juice before cooking for brightness, or garlic salt for a more savory flavor. Check out some of our other kale recipes for more flavor inspiration.

What's the best way to store air-fryer kale chips to keep them crispy?

It's best to eat these kale chips fresh, but they should last 1 to 2 days in a well-sealed bag or container. Once fried, they shouldn't get soggy, but you can always throw them back in the air fryer for a few quick minutes to revive them.
