Reviews forFamily-Pleasing Sloppy Joe Sandwiches
"Doubled this recipe for my sons birthday party; fantastic... Per reviews used yellow/orange peppers instead of brown sugar & Apple cider vinegar in place of white vinegar. Also added a splash of Worcestershire sauce; it was so good!!! You know it's a hit when there is no left overs!!! Thanks for sharing!!!"
"Delicious and easy. In order to avoid using sugar, I did use about 1/2 cup sweet yellow/orange pepper and sauteed those with the onions just a few minutes before adding the beef. Then, instead of white vinegar, I used apple cider vinegar. Doing both of those added enough natural sweetness that I didn't need to use any sugar. And per other reviews, I did add 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire. I've also made this recipe with 1/4 teas marjoram and 1/4 teas smoked paprika for a bit more flavor. Great either way!"
"wanted to make sloppy joes but didn't have any canned stuff. Found this recipe and had everything on hand. Only thing I did different was add some worschesiter 2 teaspoon. I was Leary of the all spice but it just added a different layer of flavor. No more canned for me. My family loved it"
"My family loved this recipe! I made it in my slow cooker! Browned the ground beef and onion on stove top setting in my cooker, then added the other ingredients and cooked on low for about four hours. I omitted the allspice and did add a few dashes of worcestershire sauce. Made it for Halloween and it was a hit! Doubt I will ever used canned sloppy joe sauce again. This one's a keeper!"
"My family really enjoyed this! It's a little sweet but both kids and adults enjoyed this at my house. This would be a crowd pleaser for sure! I'm making it Halloween night so when everyone comes in from the cold NH weather we all have something warm!"
"My family really likes this recipe. We've made sloppy joes other ways, but this is the recipe I've come back to several times now. I'll keep making my sloppy joes this way -- good recipe!"
"Very good. Will definitely make again. Left out the salt. Plenty in the catchup."
"Not a whole lot of flavor. I probably won't make this again unless I'm in a real pinch."
"It was nothing special."
"really good I don't like man-wich canned stuff. This is not even close to it! have to try this recipe."
