Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle Recipe
  • Prep: 1 hour + chilling
  • Yield: 20 Servings
40 20 60

Ingredients

  • 1 fudge brownie mix (13-inch x 9-inch pan size)
  • 1 package (10 ounces) peanut butter chips
  • 2 packages (13 ounces each) miniature peanut butter cups
  • 4 cups cold 2% milk
  • 2 packages (5.1 ounces each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cartons (8 ounces each) frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

  • Prepare brownie batter according to package directions; stir in peanut butter chips. Bake in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack; cut into 3/4-in. pieces.
  • Cut peanut butter cups in half; set aside 1/3 cup for garnish. In a large bowl, whisk milk and pudding mixes for 2 minutes (mixture will be thick). Add peanut butter and vanilla; mix well. Fold in 1-1/2 cartons whipped topping.
  • Place a third of the brownies in a 5-qt. glass bowl; top with a third of the remaining peanut butter cups. Spoon a third of the pudding mixture over the top. Repeat layers twice. Cover with remaining whipped topping; garnish with reserved peanut butter cups. Refrigerate until chilled. Yield: 20 servings (1 cup each).

I took this to my daughters' school's semi-annual potluck lunch fundraiser and was told I will be in charge of desserts until she graduates! She is in pre-school in a pre-K thru 8th school, so I will be making it a lot more I guess :)

I have made this recipe several times. The first time i had to unwrap and cut in half all of those miniature peanut butter cups. Now they have the mini's and they work perfectly. My trifle bowl must not be the right size because I only use 2 of the whipped topping containers.

I made this for Christmas and it was a hit!! I did have some leftovers and took them to work and they were gone by the end of the day! I've been requested to make this for the next work potluck :) I made it with sugar-free pudding and whipped topping. Also used skim milk to make the pudding. I used 4 regular size Reese's cups and chopped them up since they were cheaper to buy than a bag of the miniature. I will definetly make this again!!

A huge hit with the chocolate lovers in my family.

This was quick and easy to make. My husband loved it. I omitted the peanut butter chips. When I make it again I would probably cut the amount of peanut butter in the pudding mixture.

I made this for a large gathering and I recieved huge compliments on it! I also cut the peanut butter cups into quarters. I would highly recommend this trifle for chocolate lovers!

Love this recipe. I've changed it up a little bit. I don't always put peanut butter chips in the brownie mix. I've substituted cheesecake pudding for vanilla pudding. I've never added peanut butter to the pudding. I use a 1/2-3/4 of a pan of brownies. I've never used two bags of peanut butter cups. I just put how many I think are enough. It's been a hit every time!

Very good, but expensive. I would use the smaller size peanut butter cups and cut them in fourths!
