My grandchildren love these sandwiches. I like the recipe because it can be made ahead of time and keeps well in a slow cooker. I've found that it freezes well, too. —Patricia Ringle, Edgar, Wisconsin

"wanted to make sloppy joes but didn't have any canned stuff. Found this recipe and had everything on hand. Only thing I did different was add some worschesiter 2 teaspoon. I was Leary of the all spice but it just added a different layer of flavor. No more canned for me. My family loved it"

"My family loved this recipe! I made it in my slow cooker! Browned the ground beef and onion on stove top setting in my cooker, then added the other ingredients and cooked on low for about four hours. I omitted the allspice and did add a few dashes of worcestershire sauce. Made it for Halloween and it was a hit! Doubt I will ever used canned sloppy joe sauce again. This one's a keeper!"

"My family really enjoyed this! It's a little sweet but both kids and adults enjoyed this at my house. This would be a crowd pleaser for sure! I'm making it Halloween night so when everyone comes in from the cold NH weather we all have something warm!"

"My family really likes this recipe. We've made sloppy joes other ways, but this is the recipe I've come back to several times now. I'll keep making my sloppy joes this way -- good recipe!"

"VERY sweet- family liked it but all mentioned it was a little too sweet- I think next time I might try it without the brown sugar."
