I am trying this tonight using a home made sloppy joe recipe. My kids will love it I am sure.

I agree about it tasting like lasagna or a spaghetti bake. I will also use the jarred sauce next time (3 less ingredients to buy and store) and skip the extra steps and the dish will even be faster! It was tasty and easy-a new twist on spaghetti bake.

We thought it tasted a lot like lasagna or a spaghetti bake. The flavor of the sauce is much like "Ragu". Next time I'm using the jarred sauce to save even more steps.

I used ground turkey in place of the ground beef, and also used 12 oz. of low-fat cottage cheese. Instead of baking in the oven, I cooked it covered in the microwave for about 10 minutes. Very tasty.

Loved this recipe since it was quick to throw together and an easy way to hide cottage cheese in. Similar to lasagna with a lot less work.

Almost like a lazy lasagna. I made this for my FIL's birthday and it went over very well. I made it the day prior and then baked it in the oven just prior to serving and it was fine.

I made this last night and it was a hit, although I didn't follow the recipe to a "T". I'm the only one in the family who likes cottage cheese, so I just served it on the side, instead of putting it into the recipe (the guys wouldn't have touched it if I had put it in). Also, we live in a small town with two grocery stores and the only one who sells sloppy joe mix in pouches was out of it, so I ended up buying Heinz sloppy joe sauce in a can and used that instead of the mix, tomato sauce, tomato paste and water. Even with that change, it was still excellent, although I do want to try it again as the recipe reads. We had it with corn, fried potatoes and croissants and everyone cleaned their plate. Definitely a keeper.

I thought it was WONDERFUL!! I am always trying to make different dishes. My husband and I get tired of eating the same things and this is definitely a keeper. I love it! It is GREAT reheated for left overs too. I may change a few things to better suit my husband's taste, but for me personally I wouldn't change anything it has great flavor and is simple to make.
