Easy Sloppy Joes

Five ingredients are all you need for these hearty sandwiches that are great for family gatherings. Onion soup mix and sweet pickle relish add zesty flavor without much effort. —Marge Napalo, Brunswick, Ohio

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 3 cups ketchup
  • 2/3 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 14 hamburger buns, split

Directions

  • In a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the ketchup, relish and soup mix; heat through. Serve immediately on buns, or cool mixture before placing in a freezer container. Cover and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • To use frozen sloppy joes: Thaw beef mixture in the refrigerator; place in a saucepan and heat through. Serve on buns.

    A bit of an unusual taste from my normal sloppy joeys but I liked it. It will nice to add this in every now and again.

    i made these for a family get together... My mom who is not a big eater, ate 3 of them. and asked for any left overs. I cooked the beef and then put everything in a crock pot on low for 3 hours. they really are so good.

    This is so tasty!!! I love it!!! The only thing i did different was that i used 2 pounds of hamburger meat instead of 3, otherwise i added same amount of the other ingredients & it is sooo delicious! Way better than the canned stuff at the store!!
