I received this easy wing recipe from a cousin on Vancouver Island during a visit there a few years ago. They're an appealing appetizer, but also a favorite for Sunday lunch with rice and a salad. —Joan Airey, Rivers, Manitoba

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

Directions

  1. Cut chicken wings into 3 sections; discard wing tip section. Place in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Combine barbecue sauce, honey and soy sauce; pour over wings. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until chicken juices run clear.

Barbecue Hot Wings: Bake chicken wings as directed. Heat barbecue sauce with 1 tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon each celery seed and hot pepper sauce; toss with cooked wings. Orange-Soy Chicken Wings: Marinate chicken overnight with 3/4 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup orange juice and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Drain, discarding marinade. Bake as directed in a foil-lined pan, turning occasionally. Peachy Chicken Wings: Marinate chicken overnight with 1/3 cup each soy sauce and peach preserves, 5 teaspoons lemon juice and 3/4 teaspoon each ground ginger and minced garlic. Transfer chicken mixture to baking dish and bake as directed.
