How We Tested It
As the stove gap covers are meant to withstand everyday life, I decided to test them by seeing how well they stood up to a few days of my usual cooking and cleaning. On the morning of the first day, I confidently slid the covers into place, pleased to see that they fit snugly between the counter and stove. I then made some scrambled eggs, purposefully allowing some of the runny egg to drip onto the cover as I moved it from the counter to the pan. The cover acted as an umbrella, allowing the egg to simply run off onto the counter instead of dripping down the crevice. It was easy to wipe off the stove gap cover, as well—just a swipe of a paper towel did the trick!
At dinnertime I decided to live a little more on the edge. I made chicken-fried steak on the stove—which meant a lot of bread crumbs and a lot of oil splatters.
